We built qrcode-free.io because we were tired of "free" tools that aren't. You search for a free QR code generator, you find one, you create your code — and then a popup tells you it expires in 14 days unless you pay $9/month. That's not free. That's a trial.
Why we built this
The pattern is the same across most "free" online tools: advertise free, hook you with a functional product, then lock the thing you actually need — permanent codes, full document conversion, no watermarks — behind a subscription.
We think there's a better model. Display advertising has been funding free content on the internet since the beginning. We show ads. You get a genuinely free tool. No tricks, no expiry, no catch.

How we make money
We display ads through Google AdSense. When you visit the site, you see ads. That revenue covers our server costs and keeps the tools free. It's the same model that funds most of the free internet — we're just honest about it.
